The recent COVID-19 pandemic brought about unique challenges to theological education prompting many seminaries to move their courses online. God graciously allowed Horizon to come to the aid of these schools and offer them the use of our online Moodle platform, which allowed them to remain functional during a time when it was impossible to hold classes on a physical campus.

Even though the effects of the pandemic are mostly a thing of the past, many of these seminaries face other challenges such as political tensions and a lack of financial resources that make it necessary to find other ways, such as online learning, to reach students who would like to study but cannot come to campus. One example of this is our three partner seminaries in Ukraine that have faculty and students serving their country on the front lines during the war. They are also helping serve as the hands and feet of Christ, providing basic necessities to those who have lost everything.

Given the financial difficulties facing many of these seminaries, Horizon is looking for ways to help offset some of their costs. The Learning Platform Fund will help these seminaries sustain their use of Horizon’s learning platform for students that desire to continue their studies, but have had to move to other nearby countries, or regions of the country. Alleviating some of the cost allows seminaries to allocate their limited funds to other critical areas while keeping their courses available to those who desire to continue their studies. A gift of US$550 covers all platform costs for a seminary of up to 150 students for an entire year. A gift of US$800 covers the platform costs for a partner providing learning opportunities to up to 250 students annually. A gift of US$1100 covers the platform costs for up to 500 students for one year. Smaller donations also play a significant part in reducing the costs for these seminaries. 100% of your contribution will be applied to the schools in need.
